Join local artist Sharon Blair for an immersive, hands-on Calligraphy Masterclass, designed for all skill levels, with a focus on helping you improve your calligraphy techniques. This intensive workshop will cover a range of calligraphy styles and tools, with plenty of time for practice and creative projects.
What to Expect:
- Skill Building: Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your existing skills, Sharon will guide you through essential drills and exercises to strengthen your technique
- Tools of the Trade: Learn to use dip pens, brush markers, and convenient calligraphy markers. We’ll explore their unique characteristics and how to use each tool effectively.
- Exploring Paper & Ink: Understand how different paper surfaces and inks interact, and learn to choose the right materials for your projects.
- Hands-On Projects: Work on several calligraphy projects throughout the day, putting your new skills into practice while experimenting with different styles and mediums.
Schedule:
- 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Full day of instruction, practice, and creative projects, with a break for lunch.
- Lunch Break: Students are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch (refrigerator available), but they are also welcome to step out to nearby restaurants.
Materials: All materials will be provided, so just bring yourself, an open mind, and a willingness to learn!
