Jacquard Damar Resin Crystals, 1/2lb

Damar resin is used for hardening beeswax (to make it resistant to marring) by raising its melting temperature, can be used in Encaustic applications. Create Damar varnish by dissolving Damar crystals in turpentine or mineral spirits, and filter before brushing on a finished painting.

• Use with beeswax to create encaustics
• Dissolve in solvents such a mineral spirits or turpentine to create varnish
• Hardens beeswax by raising the melting point
