Urea is a humectant that attracts moisture from the air and binds it to a fabric. Urea is used when applying dye solutions directly to fabric, such as tie dyeing or hand painting. It slows the drying process, allowing more time for the dye to react with the fabric fibers, and yields deeper, richer shades. Urea can be used with Sodium Alginate thickener for screen printing, painting, or direct dye application.
- Prevents residue and “freckling” when using harder to dissolve dyes
- Use ¼ cup per quart of dye solution
- Recommended for use with all fiber reactive dyes
- Available in 2 sizes – 1Lb and 5Lb
